Delegate Michael Feggans was raised most of his life in the West Kempsville portion of Virginia Beach. A proud product of the Virginia Beach Public School system, he graduated from Tallwood High School. He immediately enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to pursue a career that would provide him the opportunity to become an innovative leader. An alumnus of Park University, Virginia Tech, and Norfolk State University, he values and understands the importance of both traditional and nontraditional education. After 20 years of service in the Air Force, he knew the best place to retire from the military and start his next phase as a tech entrepreneur was back home in Virginia Beach.

In 2023, Michael flipped House District 97 from a red to a blue seat in one of the most competitive races in Virginia and got right to work. As Delegate Michael Feggans has been a champion legislator, passing 10 pieces of legislation into law, including measures that honor military service, support families, invest in education, promote equity, protect the environment, and make Virginia more affordable. From easing the burden of tuition for National Guard members to building a brighter future for our youth, Delegate Michael Feggans delivers real results for the people of Virginia Beach. Since becoming Delegate, he has earned the 2024 Climate All-Star Award from the Chesapeake Climate Action Network Fund, the 2024 Legislative Rookie of the Year Award, and the 2025 Legislative Champion Award from the Virginia Education Association.

Michael plans to continue his work in the House of Delegates, serving the community he loves.
