HB 1595 – Virginia National Guard State Tuition Assistance Program:
This legislation streamlines and modernizes the tuition assistance process for Virginia National Guard members, making it more accessible and effective. The bill simplifies academic requirements, eliminates upfront payment obligations, and ensures funding is directed straight to educational institutions.
HB 1793 – Captain Matthew “Chevy” Chiaverotti Memorial Bridge:
In tribute to a local hero, this bill designates the bridge over I-264 in Virginia Beach as the Captain Matthew “Chevy” Chiaverotti Memorial Bridge, honoring his life, service, and sacrifice.
HB 1868 – Real Property Tax Exemption for Military Families:
This law provides clarity and compassion by ensuring that the families of service members who die by suicide in the line of duty are eligible for real property tax exemptions, offering support to those coping with tragic loss.
HB 2645 – Commission on Early Childhood Care and Education Membership Expansion:
