Delegate Feggans Speaks Out Against Proposed Medicaid Cuts at DLCC Press Conference

Virginia BEACH, VA – Delegate Michael Feggans joined the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) at the States of Play press conference to speak out against the urgent and dangerous consequences of proposed Medicaid cuts. These cuts would impact thousands of Virginians and could trigger laws that would automatically end Medicaid expansion, putting healthcare coverage at risk for countless families.

“These cuts will hurt thousands of families across our Commonwealth,” said Delegate Michael Feggans. “Nearly 47,000 veterans in Virginia depend on Medicaid for care not covered by TRICARE. In Hampton Roads, where many military families already face challenges, Medicaid is a lifeline. New work requirements and extra check-ins will add red tape and push more people off coverage. We need bipartisan courage to protect healthcare, not silence in the face of dysfunction in Washington.”

Delegate Feggans serves on the bipartisan Emergency Committee on the Impacts of Federal Workforce and Funding Reductions. He has heard firsthand how federal cuts are hurting Virginians and will continue working to protect them. The next committee meeting will be held on June 20, 2025, at Norfolk State University, focusing on the Hampton Roads region.
